Here's a similar comparison of manual vs. electric...imagine your engine's fuel system; with a carburetor, you pump the gas pedal to get going. With fuel injection, it relies on an electric signal to operate. One gives you a full range of operation and the other is either on or off. Neither is necessarily better, it's all personal choice.
